Facts I Learned About YA Authors at RT

A few days ago, I returned from RT. Those of you who follow my blog know I had TLA, Edgefest, an Oklahoma City signing, and RT back-to-back. And last night, I had a library appearance. Tomorrow, I have another library appearance. And after that? After that I’m leaving for Round Rock for YAB Fest. It’s been an amazing experience, and each event has been a blast. But RT, by far, was the most intense. Throw a stone and hit ten different authors. Run fast enough and score free books. It was fantastic!

THE COLLECTOR Release Party Recap

As many of you know, last weekend was the release party for THE COLLECTOR. The morning of, I went to The Hair Bar and got my hair done with one of my besties. Soon after, my parents arrived at my house. From there, it was a whirlwind: flowers being delivered, cupcakes showing up, my publicist calling, picking up my dress…and Twitter exploding with tweets from you guys wishing Dante a happy release party!

Every once in a while, I’ll check to see how many people have added THE COLLECTOR on Goodreads. It’s a good indicator of whether we (my publicists and I) need to do a bit more marketing, or if things are progressing smoothly. Well, last Tuesday, one thousand people added it. My jaw dropped and I immediately searched for an explanation. Why so many? Why today?

THE COLLECTOR, book 1 in the Dante Walker trilogy, released yesterday. It was a surreal experience to see so many people wishing Dante a happy book birthday after months of waiting. To say I’m thrilled with how the book is doing is an understatement. Yesterday, THE COLLECTOR hit the top 100 teen books on Amazon and is still kicking it there today. It was also in the top 250 books on Barnes & Noble in all categories, and I’ve been blown away by the amazing reviews you guys have posted!
